I&#39;ve thought about this a lot and believe the answer is not simple. I think that sometimes it is left out because it is too disturbing. Hogs especially, tend to yell and scream when they are restrained and don&#39;t stop yelling until they are stunned and down. So the stunning/ killing blow is cut to &quot;spare&quot; the audience the unpleasantness of having to listen to an animal scream. I just want to make sure that is clear. <br /><br />I have seen a few videos now where animals are butchered and it seems that the killing blow is never shown. Why is that? This video showed the pig bleeding out but the actual blow to the head was cut off. I don&#39;t think they stay moist, just preserved for the sake of gelatin on demand.<br /><br />Also, thanks for sharing, that was amazing.
