Changes

Please bear with me as I reconfigure the look of  A Hunger Artist. I've grown bored with the thing and as a result it has grown stale and dusty. I'll be toying with the layout for a week or more, but the change you see today will be the basic look from hereon. Bob dG

I'm lazy and hate to have to scroll down to see if there is a new post.Suggestion: shrink or lose the "Hunger Artist." That is, what that is, is it not? Hope its not a "sacred cow"!

Very nice. Much cleaner. If it were me (and of course it's not) I'd move "search this site" to the top, followed by "blog archive", "links", and "saveur".

Will you test the designs with a series of focus groups?

Thanks, I'll move things around and see how it looks.

David
No, I'm going to do a double blind study with a placebo. Bet you can't imagine what the placebo will be. :-)

This may be just I am logged in to Blogger, but I get a search window at the top - the side one is redundant.

I like the new look. It's cleaner, and the logo is much smaller now and requires less scolling. It's rather soothing actually - lots of meat talk and greys and blues. Lovely.

Thanks for the tip which, as you can see, I took to heart.

Scotty,
You were right.

Carrie
Thanks!

I like it a lot.

The new layout looks great, Bob. Very fresh. The only thing I'd tweak, but not sure you can on the template, is make the right column a little bit smaller, to give more room to the actual posts.

Is this better? I made the post column wider and narrowed the gadget column.

You will never get this right; it's not possible. The right column is now too small. However (my version of "that said") it's much better than it was. It looks much better, and is much easier to read, on my iPad.

The content, as always, rocks.

Yes, it is much better as far as I am concerned, Bob. You can still see the recent entries very clearly and click on those on the right side, but there isn't too much room, proportionally, allocated to mostly static content.
