Guess What This Is
If you can guess what this is you are way ahead of me. When Trent brought this into the kitchen a few weeks back, I had only fragments of visual memory to compare to what I was seeing. I knew it was some kind of organ, the fur looked familiar, but I could not put a name for it together until the smell of the fur gave up the identity of the animal.

Thanks for finding that, Bob. I almost gave up on it.
Where was it, anyway?
Bob
It was on an animal.
I am guessing it's a Rocky Mountain Oyster. Sheep definitely have a smell that would be tell tale.
I was going to guess sheep testicles.
Another vote for sheep testicle here.
It looks like a ferret from that angle. But as your diggin around it's innards, and living as I do in West Virgina, I'll wager I might be able to fetch you up a nice stew recipe.
Iff'n yer need'n one.
I'm guessing it a opossum's stomach. Or an organ a bit south of there.
LMH wins 1st prize. Should I freeze it before shipping?
That is just too baaaaaaaad!
Opossom?
I would have guessed testicle too. If it's fresh, grill lightly over wood smoke and consume with a spritz of lemon juice. Mmmmm.
But then again, I'm greek, so ymmv.
So...how was it?
Oh.
I guess I have to keep looking, then.
Maybe I'll just grow a pair. Yeah, I'll just let them grow until the Eagles win the Super Bowl.
I think you may have stumbled onto the next big internet game show: Can you guess what this is?
I'll take offal for 300 points.
Jon, that's an offal good idea!
LMH, is that a "tell tale" smell or a tell tail smell?
Woo! My mom always said I was a winner.
Larbo - kinda both, really.
hehe. i knew there was a reason i loved this blog so much:)
that is not something you see everyday:)
I'm feeling a little sheepish that I didn't get that one.
Love 'em, and beg the local vet for fresh ones....although ours are mostly beef. So what did you did with them, Bob?
John, Idahorocks
We sold them.
