My favorite cookbook was a big orange beauty by Chef Lenotre. I gave it to a guy working in the cafeteria at work after he won a contest and I found out he was going to school for baking.God bless him.
I ate his pastry, at a Paris Lenotre, in 1981, before he was bought out. It was a perfection that I still seek to obtain whenever I make pastry; well, at least in taste, but not being an artist, I haven't even come close to the visual mastery.
