Chinook Salmon Vanish Without a Trace

Nothing but bad news this morning. The financial markets are in turmoil, my asthma is kicking up and the Chinook salmon appear to have disappeared from the Sacramento River.

Weird, really truly weird - but then again, our weather out here has been really truly weird for the past several years. Twice in the past few months we've had 80+ degree weather, followed overnight by a hail storm with snow. I see animals like deer and coyote at 11 o'clock in the morning out looking for something to eat, in busy populated neighborhoods. There have been several mountain lion sightings in really busy areas, too. Somethin's definitely up.

Salmon are vanishing up and down the coast of British Columbia as well. One cause is the proliferation of salmon farm sea lice, which attack attach themselves to young salmon due to lack of scales. Habitat destruction does't help, either.
