This is even funny at 5:25 in the morning with sleep junk in my eyes and a half-finished cup of coffee wiggling around in my field of vision. Can't imagine that something like this would have happened when Balducci's was a family owned business...

I should talk, I haven't kept Kosher since 1971. My Hannukah dinner included sauteed swiss chard made with canadian bacon "lardons".

Actually, my biggest claim to blasphemy came two years ago when a friend gave us a liter of Manischewitz for Passover. After my obligatory sip, I didn't know what to do with the rest, so I reduced it to a syrup with some rosemary and garlic and used it to glaze a pork roast. Here comes that lightning bolt . . .
