And Now for Something Completely Different

Not For Viewing at Work -unless your boss is as cool as you are.

Make sure you are sitting down for this one. It's a PETA-produced anti-milk propaganda piece that owes as much to Federico Fellini's Satyricon as it does to the "Girls Gone Wild" soft-porn videos it acknowledged by the title, costumes, music and choreography.

Milk Gone Wild!

Posted Mar 23, 2006

This PETA spoof of the oh-so-scummy "Girls Gone Wild" series was apparently rejected by ABC.

Oh, that is just so wrong on so many levels. I mean it is udderly disgusting!

Er - Uh,

Exactly what was the point PETA was trying to make that would somehow dissuade people from buying milk?

I really, REALLY don't get that ad. How was that anti-milk? It was just...weird and pointless. Another case where it makes perfect sense to the wackos who make it, but not to anyone else in the world, I guess.

Well Bob, you must be right about the cool part...because my work place installed 'filters' so I don't even had the option to see it, just a black square for me! ha!

Can you post the link and I can check it out when I got off of the base? (uh, I mean work/campus...whatever you call it)

But if I am really not missing anything, don't worry about it...

I expected the video to be another PETA stunt before I watched but I have to say that it makes a good and valid point, namely that we exploit women just as we exploit animals. However I do not think this was PETA's concious motive given the substance of previous campaigns. I think what they were trying to achieve was breaking down the cognative dissonance most people have when they think of milk. Most people don't really consider that dairy milk is analogous to a woman's mammary secretions. For what it's worth, I had that realization after reading Grapes of Wrath and realizing that the final scene was so disturbing to me only because it involved humans; cows on the other hand are just fine yet biologically its an equivalent situation.

ok it had me laughing up until the milk started flowing...then all I could do is stare... scary stuff.

...now why do I have the uncontrollable urge to have a chocolate chip cookie?

Now, finally being able to see it...lunacy!

I don't even get the connection to Peta and there 'not drinking milk' agenda, HUH?

Looks more like a nice SPIKE spoof that we would expect from them on 'The Man Show' and then say - Got Milk?
