Foie Gras for Five Bucks

My friend at Hudson Valley Farm sent this to me today, and I'm passing it along to you.

Never tried foie gras?
Now you can for only five dollars at restaurants throughout Philly!

Philadelphia, PA, Sept. 24, 2007-- Philadelphia Chefs for Choice invites you to Freedom Foie for Five: a special celebration of foie gras. All next week, the week of October 1, both for lunch and dinner, you will be able to sample this deliciously controversial dish for only $5 at the participating restaurants listed below.

I LOVE This!! I wish I were nearer to Philly to be part of the counter-culture!

Nicolas Maduros from the Inquirer has a set of cojones and is willing to state the facts and stand up to the PETA BS about foie gras.

Not so, Dan Brown-nose of the Philadelphia Daily Snooze. He wrote this story up in a two paragraph item with the heading "Duck torture at a discount."

Sad to see the once-proud Daily News sinking into sycophancy with the Goosesteppo. At least the Inky is there to make sure Philly retains SOME journalistic integrity.

OK, Nicolas Maduros wrote that piece FOR the Inquirer, he's not FROM the Inquirer.

Dan Gross is still a weak-kneed brown-noser, though.
