Christopher Walken Cooks (who knew?)

Scott Harris was kind enough to send me this amusing video of Christopher Walken cooking roast chicken with pears. His technique is not great (among other mistakes he should have salted it a few hours then rubbed it with oil before cooking it) but that didn't stop me from wondering if he should not try for a spot on Hell's Kitchen . I mean, wouldn't it be wild to see him respond to a diatribe from Gordon Ramsay? I have not watched more than 3 minutes of any installment of Hell's Kitchen but I 'd pay to see that.

Scott Harris is currently building a magazine, Vine Dining: Regional Food and Dining for the Professional and the Passionate and a blog Cooking In Theory, whose title is inspired by the work of James Beard and Alistair Crowley, and can be reached at cooking.in.theory@gmail.com.

I just e-mailed this to Bob, with thanks for the mention, but only the title is inspired by Beard and Crowley, the blog will be on general food topics, with a particular emphasis on the food and wine of Western New York and Southern Ontario. A bit of obscure humor.

BTW, Crowley probably summoned demons to cook for him . . .

You know, Crowley used to live here in Pasadena. He was friends with Jack Parsons - the co-founder of JPL and a researcher at Caltech. Parsons used to invoke Pan before every rocket launch. They both practiced magick together here in Pasadena.

His mansion has long-since been torn down so nobody is exactly sure where it used to be...but I'm sure its gotta be in one of the areas that is known for being rather haunted (would be my guess).

I went apeshit watching this...he's got his hands all over that raw chicken and then goes on to touch just about everything else in the kitchen with them. Yow.

By the way, if you didn't know Walken could dance, then you must watch this:

Oh, yes, he can dance.

Walken also danced in "Pennies From Heaven" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7rseCwM9mU

I mentioned the chicken fingers to Bob in my original post, also that I'd like ask him about the death of Natalie Wood.

J/T Parsons later had as a disciple an obscure SciFi author named L. Ron Hubbard . . .

I watch this and all i can think about is...

"I got a hunger, and the only cure.. is more cowbell!".. oh my oh my..

I never thought Id see the day when Walken was doing a step by step about food.
